Statewide media contests, Summer Institute online registration now open
NCSMA is now accepting entries for its 2019 statewide media contests. Categories include newspaper/newsmagazine, online news site, broadcast news, radio/podcast, literary magazine and yearbook.
The received-by deadline for entries in the print news, online news, broadcast news and radio/podcast categories is May 1. The received-by deadline for the literary magazine and yearbook categories is June 1.
Critique services and All-North Carolina media contests are offered. All-North Carolina media compete for the Tar Heel awards. Students may also submit entries for more than 50 individual contests. Winners will be announced during the 2019 Summer Institute. Online registration for the four-day program, taking place June 17-20, can be found on the Summer Institute page. We invite schools and student media programs across the state to enroll. **Registration deadline has been extended to June 6.
